This presentation aims to give the audience an overview of an integrated Flight Plan system and Flow Management System (iFPFMS).
This presentation is based on a real system developed by Atech, based on the requirements established by DECEA (Department of Airspace Control) – the Brazilian ANSP.
As any worldwide ANSP, DECEA faces the challenge of providing better services to the aviation community without sacrificing the most valuable keyword in aviation: safety.
As part of this challenge, DECEA needed to provide commercial airlines and general aviation with an easy, technological way of planning and filling their flight plans. At the same time, to ensure that this flight planning is following the ICAO and national regulations, passing by all the instances of flight plan approval, and to ensure that this flight planning is viable in terms of DCB (Demand and Capacity Balance) of airspace. Finally, DECEA needed to provide all stakeholders involved in aviation with the same situational awareness about their flights.
To accomplish this challenge, the iFPFMS was developed and deployed in 2020 and is now in full operation after the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. It supports DECEA and the aviation community in the national/international constant growth of the number of flights and passengers.
