The European Commission’s mobility and transport department (DG MOVE) is working towards making the European transport system more competitive, sustainable and resistant  o future shocks and ensuring transport is safe, accessible and affordable for all EU citizens. 

Our priorities include promoting more sustainable aviation by increasing the use of sustainable Aviation Fuels under the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation expected  to reduce aviation CO2 emissions by around two thirds by 2050. The Single European Sky reform promotes more efficient flying by reducing airspace fragmentation. We have also initiated the SESAR project to address technological challenges to modernise air traffic management.
